Who am I?

My name is Katie Higgins, and my first foray into writing was the hundreds upon hundreds of handwritten diaries I kept throughout my childhood years. No matter how exciting or boring my life was at any given moment, I knew I had to document it – and, like many writers before me, words were the only way I knew how to perfectly express exactly how I was thinking or feeling.

I was born in Northampton, England in 1989, which means I essentially spent my preteen and teen years growing up on the internet. This sounds depressing to some people, but I see it as a positive. I was building my own websites at age 11 (Angelfire, anyone?!), and I now have an almost-innate knowledge of how online content works and how powerful it can be.

I kept many blogs and Livejournals throughout my twenties, and began writing freelance content for websites such as the Huffington Post, Women's Views on News, and Shout Out UK during this time. Then, I moved to Belgrade, Serbia to begin and grow my career in content writing at a new tech start-up, FishingBooker. Here, I wrote and edited a variety of content – long-form blogs, SEO-driven articles, social media posts, interviews, short-form copy....you name it, I've probably done it! Due to the diversity of content I've written and the publications I've written for, adapting my style to encapsulate a brand or person's unique story has become second nature, as well as my biggest passion.
